EXTREMELY FINE. ONLY THIRTEEN FIRST DAY COVERS ARE KNOWN BEARING A COMPLETE SET OF THE PAN-AMERICAN EXPOSITION SERIES.

In an article in the June 1999 issue of First Days, Alan Berkun records eleven covers bearing complete sets of the Pan-American Issue, including four from the District of Columbia (all to Germany), four from Mass. (not including the cover offered here), two from New York and one from Seattle (sold in our 2001 Rarities sale). The cover offered in our 2002 Rarities sale from Washington D.C. to Switzerland becomes the 12th first day in the census. The cover offered here becomes No. 13. (Image)

2357 c image10c Yellow (338). Natural s.e. at top, tied by bold "Danvers Ill. Feb. 1, 1909" duplex cancel on fresh cover to Fresno Cal., magenta Fresno registered backstamp, blue ms. Mar. 17, 1926" registry double-circle datestamp on mailing tag to Federal Reserve Bank, Philadelphia, stamps with perforated initials, Very Fine, this is the new earliest documented use of No. 524, (the 2003 Specialized states June 11, 1926 on parcel tag) with 2002 P.F. certificate (Image) E. 300-400 425.00
