Large margins to slightly in, tied by blue "City Post" in circle, dark blue "Cincinnati O. 5 Feb. 24" integral-rate circular datestamp with rate crossed out by pen on cover to Commissioner of Pensions in Washington D.C., endorsed "Free", 1852 docketing, stamp barely affected from contents VERY FINE. AN ATTRACTIVE AND RARE USE OF BROWNE & CO.'S 2-CENT STAMP ON A "FREE" COVER. The 1c stamp, Scott 29L1, was designed with the "Brown & Co." spelling error. Unused (no gum), vertical pair with huge right sheet margin and large margins all around, faint horizontal crease in top stamp, diagonal crease and thin in shet margin, bottom stamp is sound, Extremely Fine appearance, we know of one other multiple of this rare stamp -- the block of six in the Golden collection (Siegel Sale 817, lot 866, realized $6,000 hammer), which at one point this pair joined -- signed Sloane, Scott value for two singles is $1,200.00 and a block is $3,000.00 (Image)	E. 1,000-1,500	2,600.00
