Western Postal History Balance from the Hall Collection. Eight
covers and thirteen stamps, 1850's-60's, seven covers are eastbound
transcontinental -- five with California circular datestamps (Yankee Jims,
Columbia, Mokelumne Hill, Mission San Jose), other two are "Jacksonville
Ogn." (Oregon) and "Traverse Des Sioux M.T." circular datestamps -- stamps
with variety of Wells, Fargo & Co. Express cancels, including Nos.

Hagenbeck-Wallace Circus. Two albums containing 177 postcards,
several photos of circus and few copies of newspaper clippings, all
postcards were written by Bob Frankel who was the advance man for the
circus in 1911-12, most postcards depict the main street of towns where the
circus performed, two photos of Frankel incl. one with Lincoln Beachey,
last postcard reads "Beachey nervous wreck tired of flying..." and
dated Oct. 10, 1914 (Beachey died during crash at Panama-Pacific
Exposition), Fine-Very Fine, interesting group |
