The 24c 1869 Pictorial, even in original-gum condition, is not a rare stamp. However, centering and soundness are elusive qualities among examples of this issue. This stamp has color, centering and margins that appear more like its re-issue counterpart.

remarkably well-centered with extra wide margins, bold strike of "N.
York Steamship" circular datestamp, light horizontal crease and added
top right corner perf tip, Extremely Fine appearance, the high-value 1869
Pictorial stamps are rarely found with this New York Steamship marking,
which indicates use on mail from outside the United States, with 2001 P.F.

bright colors on exceptionally fresh paperEXTREMELY FINE GEM. A SUPERB STAMP WITH REMARKABLY CHOICE CENTERING. THE 30-CENT 1869 IS ESPECIALLY RARE IN ORIGINAL-GUM CONDITION.
Our experience with the 1869 Pictorial Issue has shown that the 30c with grill (as opposed to Scott 121a without grill) is extremely rare in well-centered original-gum condition. Centering seems to be a challenge in this issue, and our best estimate is that 12 to 15 of the 30c exist in Extremely Fine grade with original-gum.
