3c Dull Red, Ty. IIa (26a). 532 stamps arranged on exhibit pages,
comprising unusually complete plate reconstructions of Plate 11 Early,
Intermediate and Late, each exhibit page shows space for 25 stamps,
range of shades and cancels, some faults typical of plating
studies FINE TO VERY FINE. A REMARKABLE SET OF VIRTUALLY COMPLETE PLATE RECONSTRUCTIONS OF THE THREE STATES OF PLATE 11. Plate 10 and Plate 11 are the only two plates to yield the Type IIa stamps. Plate 10 and 11 were both reworked twice to correct wear. Each state of the plate yields different varieties of recutting. These three reconstructions would be very difficult if not impossible to duplicate. Scott Retail with no premium for varieties. |
