stamps difficult to ascertain whether Mint N.H. due to strong offset,
intense shade on nicely yellowed paper, large margins all around, top left
stamp small thin spot, otherwise Extremely Fine, ex Col. Cosby where

(3a). Block of ten, large margins all around, original gum, bottom
stamps appear to be Mint N.H., top stamps lightly hinged, sharp proof-like
impression, second stamp from right in top row with "20O" instead of 20c
flaw, usual light natural gum bends, one stamp at top tiny gum
thinEXTREMELY FINE. A BEAUTIFUL BLOCK OF TEN OF THE 20-CENTIMES BLACK 1849 ISSUE STAMP.

FRANCE, 1869, 5fr Gray Lilac
on Lavender, Laureated (37). Choice centering, affixed upside down and
tied by "22" in star of dots cancel on 1874 folded letter to
Guadalajara, Mexico, stamp also tied by "Paris Rue Taitbout 19 Mai 74"
double-circle datestamp and "60" due marking with "0" changed to an "8",
Vera Cruz transit and receiving datestamps, red "P.P." handstamp, light
horizontal file fold well clear of stamp and some slight overall wear
including cover tear at top leftEXTREMELY FINE. SINGLE USAGES OF THE 5-FRANC LAUREATED ARE EXTREMELY SCARCE.
