brilliant color, cancelled by perfect strike of "Ersekujvar 1 Janer"
straightline datestamp on 1851 folded letter to Komarom, receiving
backstamp, light horizontal file folds incl. one barely affecting top
margin of right stamp, otherwise Extremely Fine, an attractive and rare
usage of this strip from Hungary, signed Muller, Scott Retail for single on
cover is $1,600.00 (Image)

Yellow, Ty. Ib, 2kr Black, Ty. IIIb, Machine-Made Paper (1h, 2c).
Horizontal strip of three of 1kr and vertical strip of three of 2kr, each
stamp tied by clear strike of "Szent Kereszt 0/5" double-circle
ornamental datestamp on folded cover to Brescia, receiving backstamp, few
light file folds, one of which affects center 1kr stampVERY FINE. AN OUTSTANDING AND RARE FRANKING USED IN HUNGARY.
With 1995 Ferchenbauer certificate stating "an impressive and very fine item" (Image)

6kr Brown (4) affixed to back flap, strip cancelled by "Csik
Martonfalva 10/7" negative straightline on light green cover to
Hermannstadt, 6kr tied by ms. (scuffed at left), receiving backstamp, 1850
docketing, some slight wear to cover not affecting stamps, Very Fine and
choice, rare Hungarian cancel on Austrian first-issue cover, signed Muller,
acquired by the Halls at Mercury Stamp Co. in Nov. 1949

Machine-Made Paper, Tokay Roulette (3e var). Left sheet margin single,
with roulettes on all sides and intact roulettes at left at sheet
margin, brilliant color, tied by perfect strike of "Tokay 12/5"
datestamp on folded letter to Debreczin, clearly-struck receiving
backstamp, light horizontal file folds do not affect stampEXTREMELY FINE. A SUPERB STAMP AND COVER BEARING THE TOKAY ROULETTE WITH INTACT ROULETTES ALONG THE SHEET MARGIN.
In an article in the 1950 National Philatelic Museum handbook, Felix Brunner notes that the Austrian stamps issued in 1850 were rouletted in Tokay, Hungary, presumably by the local postmaster. The same rouletting is also found used from Hommona. Mr. Brunner notes that the rouletting likely started at Hommona (which is only found on the Type I stamps), and that the postmaster there later rouletted stamps to be used in Tokay.

tears expertly repairedEXTREMELY FINE. A RARE EXAMPLE OF THE AUSTRIA 10-KREUZER STAMP BISECTED AND USED IN HUNGARY.
