VERY FINE-EXTREMELY FINE. ONE OF THE FINEST KNOWN BLOCKS OF THE 12-CENT 1869 PICTORIAL ISSUE.

Jonathan Rose records eight unused blocks, including one block of twelve, one block of nine and three blocks of six, all more or less off-center. Other blocks of four include the Zoellner block (centered to top right), two offered in Caspary (one centered and one with perfs in at bottom) and the block offered here. This block, with its choice centering, is one of the most desirable.
