Proof on India (70TC4). Half-sheet of 50, the bottom half of the sheet
with trace of guideline at right, full imprint and plate no. 6 at bottom
and wide sheet margin at left, large margins other sides, deep rich color,
few minor flaws often associated with this fragile paper including light

"2" pence due for British transit with second strike below on 1862 folded
letter to Augustine Heard & Co. in Shanghai, China, red "London
Paid" datestamp, sender's oval handstamp, red "New York Paid Feb. 12"
transit and "Hong Kong Ap. 11 '62" receiving backstamps, sender's routing
"via Marseilles", light horizontal file fold, very freshVERY FINE. A BEAUTIFUL 90-CENT 1861 COVER FROM THE AUGUSTINE HEARD CORRESPONDENCE.
