Unadopted Design (206E). Two: first is affixed to 57 x 71mm card with
"Dos Centavos" along top label and "One Cent" pasted onto label at bottom,
also with pencil "U.S. Postage" at top and part of design (including
denominations) in pencil, additional detail sketch of denomination at
right, second is printed directly on 40 x 67mm India paper with text, stars
and right "1" cut out, both with light toningVERY FINE. A UNIQUE PAIR OF ESSAYS FOR THE ONE-CENT BANK NOTE STAMPS. OFFERED TO THE MARKET FOR THE FIRST TIME.

large gold P.O.D. seal and small blue "Third Assistant P.M.G. P.O.D. Apr.
11 '85" circular datestamp, initialled at upper right, file folds, (some
slight splitting) and faults at top clear of markings and type, Very Fine
and unusual item, small Mekeel's article affixed to back regarding the
seal, an interesting collateral item for the Bank Note collector and
