EXTREMELY FINE. ONLY FOUR USED SINGLES AND TWO BLOCKS OF FOUR OF THIS COLOR VARIETY ARE KNOWN TO EXIST. AN OUTSTANDING RARITY.

The Philatelic Foundation has certified only four used singles and one used block of four. The block offered in the following lot is the finer of the two known blocks of four. What is probably the finest single contained in our records realized $2,200 hammer in our Sale 821.

EXTREMELY FINE GEM BLOCK. ONLY FOUR SINGLES AND TWO BLOCKS OF FOUR ARE RECORDED, AND THIS IS BY FAR THE FINER OF THE TWO BLOCKS.

The Philatelic Foundation has certified only four singles and one block of four as genuine. The other block has a straight edge at right and slight thinning.
