FINE AND RARE. ONLY EIGHT COPIES OF THE 12-CENT PERF 10 AT TOP OR BOTTOM ARE KNOWN TO US. ONLY FOUR ARE KNOWN POSTALLY CANCELLED.

Our records of Scott 512b contain five copies certified as genuine by the Philatelic Foundation, plus three additional stamps. Of these eight copies, at least three are faulty. Two sound stamps, both without precancels, have not been seen for over 25 years.

VERY FINE APPEARING EXAMPLE OF THE RARE 20-CENT PERF 10 AT TOP OR BOTTOM.

The only example of this rarity to be offered at auction in recent memory sold for $6,750 hammer in our 1999 Rarities sale. It bore a Schenectady N.Y. precancel and had a natural s.e. at right. The Zoellner collection did not contain this rarity.

EXTREMELY FINE GEM. VERY FEW EXAMPLES OF THIS PERFORATION VARIETY ARE KNOWN. THIS IS PROBABLY THE FINEST EXISTING EXAMPLE OF THIS RARITY.

The last example to be sold, with a light diagonal crease, realized $6,750 hammer in our Sale 826.
