Pkt. 21 Mar 8" debit datestamp, 1sh postage due paid by Brown Shipley & Co., who added forwarding postage paid by wing-margin horizontal pair of G.B. 4p stamps tied by "Liverpool 22 MR 62" circular datestamp and "466" ovals, forwarder's oval handstamp, French transits, cover slightly reduced at right, still Very Fine and rare usage, the 1c stamp was probably intended to pay the carrier fee to the N.Y. post office (Image) E. 750-1,000 1,150.00

Tied by "City Delivery/U.S. Mail/1" carrier datestamp and by "New York 18 Nov. 29" debit datestamp on light yellow cover to Orbetello, Italy, red 1862 Calais transit datestamp also ties stamp, ms. due markings, small tear at top from opening, Very Fine, extremely rare use of 1c stamp to pay carrier fee to the New York post office, leaving the rest of the postage unpaid, signed Ashbrook and with his backstamp (Image) E. 750-1,000 575.00
