Kearny Expedition. Folded
letter datelined "Presidio Barracks, San Francisco California, April
29th" from a member of the 7th Regt. N.Y.S. Vols., 1847 docketing on
back, red "St. Louis Mo. Aug. 26" and matching "Steam 10" handstamp, to
Norwich N.Y., good content lamenting the lack of an "organized enemy to
give us battle", expertly cleaned and repaired along file folds, Very
Fine appearance, a rare letter from a member of the Kearney expedition,
accompanied by two additional folded letters from same correspondence
discussing murder trial in Binghamton N.Y.
