With Nos. 480 (horizontal strip of three), 498 and 504, tied by N.Y. registry oval cancels on piece, violet New York Foreign Branch Registry Jul. 13, 1917 double-circle datestamp, 75c with natural s.e. at L., Fine, with 1994 A.P.S. certificate (stating "wash of glue over entire piece) $ 375
873 $1.00 Parcel Post (Q12). Indistinctly cancelled on mailing card inserted in slot of 16 x 10 x 5-inch brown laundry mailing box, pencil address erased, box with few scrapes from transit and broken strap, stamp Very Good, mailing boxes were used to send laundry, usually from students at school to mothers at home, a wonderful example of U.S. postal history, particularly with the scarce $1.00 solo franking $ 140
874 High-Denomination Parcel Post Issues on Piece. Five pieces comprising $1.00 with No. 440 both precanceled, 75c pair precanceled, 15c pair with 50c and $1.00, 25c (two) with 75c and No. 430, and 15c with two 4c, most with faults, generally Fine, scarce $ 400
875 Parcel Post Issues on Tags. Two tags, one blue and one red, each printed "Corry Hide & Fur Co., Corry Pa." and "Perishable Raw Furs" on one side, blue with Nos. Q2, Q5 and Q9 tied by Jan. 3, 1913 Bushy Va. cancels on reverse, red with Nos. Q1 (pair), Q5 (strip of three) and Q9 tied by indistinct Jan. 3, 1913 cancels, both Q9's with two natural s.e., red tag slightly reduced at top when removed from package, Very Fine, scarce commercial third-day usages, both with 1998 A.P.S. certificates $ 210

Eight covers and two picture post cards used from foreign destinations to the U.S., incl. 1c from Japan and Norway, 2c from Mexico and Latvia, 5c from Germany, New South Wales, Peru, Sweden, Denmark and Mexico, incl. four with mixed frankings of Parcel Post and regular Postage Dues, an interesting group, few faults, overall Fine-Very Fine, one with 1992 A.P.S. certificate $ 375

Nineteen covers and eight picture post cards used domestically, incl. 2c (five covers), 5c (three covers), others 1c, few used in combination with regular postage dues and in pairs, wide variety of towns and states, usual few faults, three later usages not catalogued, overall Fine-Very Fine, five with 1992/1997 A.P.S. certificates $ 650

On field service post cards, first franked by two overlapping 2c, dated Dec. 19, 1915 and addressed to St. Johnsbury Vt., second franked by two overlapping vertical 1c pairs, dated Jan. 19, 1917 and addressed to Lawrence Pa., third franked by one 1c despite 4c due marking, dated Jul. 11, 1916, Very Fine and scarce, the cards were charged 4c due to pay the postage on international mail because the U.S. was neutral and not a member of the Allies at this time $ 160
