AN ASTOUNDING BLOCK OF THE 12-CENT 1857-59 ISSUE - REPORTED TO BE THE LARGEST KNOWN MULTIPLE IN PRIVATE HANDS. The Neinken book records a full pane in the Jeffreys collection at the Franklin Institute, but we have not verified whether the pane is intact. Another unused block of 25 is recorded. The Scott value for a block with original gum is $3,750, or 1.44 times the value of four singles.
