"I have buried nine officers since we arrived here, seven of them since the 20th of July...men women and children dying faster than I can get them buried, think of thirty one in two days and at this instance eight lying dead - to describe the
wretched scenes in the Hospital, and the poor helpless women in the Barracks - would be a task for a more able pen than mine... address somewhat faded, a Very Fine and fascinating letter, accompanied by a full transcript (Image Magnifier) |

EAST GERMANY, 1984, 5pf-25pf Unissued Olympic Set (Michel I-III). Mint N.H. set of the three unissued stamps, Very Fine, no more than 50 sets are believed to exist. The set was originally issued for
the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles. However, due to the boycott of the Games by the Eastern European Bloc, the stamps were never issued. Curiously, the same design was used by East Germany for their stamps for the 1988 Olympic Games in Seoul (a
set of these accompanies). Each is signed and with 1990 Zierer certificate. Unlisted in Scott, Michel catalogue value (Image Magnifier) |

British Commonwealth errors, of which only 17 are reported. The Gibbons catalogue states that it is believed that this error occurred when a sheet with the center showing the "Glasgow" was accidentally included among the supply of the 6p value, where
it received the wrong frame. Gibbons also states that there have been seventeen reported, although this number may include some duplication in reporting. Stanley Gibbons value £16,000 (Image Magnifier) |
