PHILIPPINES, Official Stamps, An extensive specialized collection of "0. B." Overprints on the issues of 1899, 1903 and 1909. The Overprints on U. S. stamps are from lc to $5.00 denominations, those on the definitive Philippine issues are 2c
to 10 peso. While there are a few with unusual types of handstamp overprints, most are the printed "0. B." which are shown in a number of different colors including Red and Green, among others. The collection is beautifully mounted and written up in
an "Oriel" type album, leather-bound and padded sides. There are singles, pairs, and blocks. Numerous errors are found, the most noteworthy being pairs or blocks with overprint omitted on one or more stamps, setenant with normal. Four pages are
devoted to the Scoll listed varieties #01 -037, the other 45 pages are devoted to the early issues. The collection has won awards wherever exhibited and a number of items are noted to be unique with others nearly so. Detailed description is
impossible, it is enough to say that this is an unparalleled opportunity to acquire a magnificent collection of issues which are given recognition in the Yvert & Tellier catalogue but which are almost completely ignored in Scott despite the fact that
they had official sanction. Condition throughout is excellent, virtually all are Fine to Very Fine unused with original gum Search for comparables |
