Sharply embossed on double sheet of fine, laid paper watermarked, with two stamp impressions, one on each part of the folded sheet. The document is a rough draft on an intended Will and is docketed "Draft of Will, 18th Oct. 1767". A late use, not paying any tax as the Stamp Act was replaced March 17, 1766. Generally in an excellent state of preservation with only a couple of minor breaks and a couple of minor, almost negligible soiling or age marks. A marvelous historic piece and of unquestioned rarity. It is the only one of the General Issue series to be unpriced in Scott. This document is of particular interest as it was written in New Jersey, the only Colonial Revenue so far recorded from there (Image Magnifier)
